Samsung has opened pre-reservations for its upcoming Galaxy S series, which the company is positioning as its next “AI Phone.” The new flagship lineup will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25 in San Francisco.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. EST and will be streamed live via Samsung.com, the Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s official YouTube channel. While Samsung has not confirmed the exact models yet, the invite makes it clear that AI will be the central theme of this year’s Galaxy S series launch.
Samsung says the upcoming Galaxy S series is designed to simplify everyday interactions and make Galaxy AI feel more seamlessly integrated. From the wording of the announcement, it appears the company is moving beyond standalone AI tools and focusing on deeper system-level integration.
As part of the pre-reservation offer, customers can get a $30 credit when they pre-order the device. Samsung is also offering a chance to win a $5,000 gift card for use on Samsung.com. BuPlus customers can get up to $900 in additional savings with an eligible trade-in, or a $150 credit without a trade-in when they reserve and pre-order via Samsung.com. Apart from that, reservations are also available through AT&T and Best Buy.
Leaks around the upcoming Galaxy S series suggest that Galaxy AI 2.0 could be a key highlight. The devices are expected to be powered by either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Other tipped features include an improved Magic Editor for photos and an upgraded Live Transcribe 2.0 that may be integrated into apps like Samsung Notes and the camera.
On the camera side, rumors point to AI-driven improvements such as better low-light image processing and enhanced 100x AI zoom using sensor fusion. There is also speculation about an AI-based lens adaptation system that analyzes scenes in real time. Some reports mention an upgraded facial recognition system with improved spoof resistance.
However, at this stage, these details remain based on leaks and have not been officially confirmed by Samsung. Though one thing is clear, that AI will be the key focus of the upcoming Galaxy S series.
In my view, Samsung’s strong emphasis on AI is not surprising. The company was among the first to roll out a suite of AI features under the Galaxy AI branding. With smartphone hardware upgrades becoming more incremental each year, deeper AI integration could be the next major battleground.
The real question is whether these features will deliver meaningful improvements in daily use. We should have more clarity when Samsung takes the stage on February 25.
